At OCULAR, we approach video projects with the same care and creativity we bring to everything else—by combining strong ideas with smooth, well-managed production. Here’s how we take your story from brief to final delivery.
The Video Process at OCULAR
Updates

Development
Every project starts with a solid brief. We use this to define goals, audiences, and expectations. From there, we research, shape the concept, set a budget, and lock in delivery dates and export requirements. If scripting is required, we take care of that too—balancing structure with storytelling.
Checklist:
Clear brief (including distribution details)
Concept and approach outlined
Budget confirmed
Script created (if needed)
Delivery timelines and export specs agreed
Pre-Production
This is where the real planning kicks in. Pre-production covers everything from logistics to creative prep. We schedule key dates, scout locations, cast talent, confirm crew, and make sure everything’s ready to go. Whether it’s health and safety planning or creating shotlists and storyboards, this stage sets the tone for a smooth shoot.
This phase covers:
Key dates and milestones
Crew, casting, and locations
Permits, H&S plans, risk assessments
Shotlists, storyboards, and shoot schedules
Art direction, props, sets, and costumes
Production
Now we roll camera. Production is often the shortest and most intense part of the process—we’re on-site capturing the best possible footage in 4K RAW. Our shoot days are carefully planned and split into half or full-day sessions. For animation-only projects, we skip filming and head straight to post.
Includes:
On-location or studio filming
Half-day (up to 5 hours) and full-day (5–10 hours) shoots
Travel charged at half-day rates
Post-Production
This is where it all comes together. We edit the footage, add music, apply motion graphics, and polish with colour grading and sound design. You’ll have two key stages to give feedback—first on the Rough Cut, then again on the Fine Cut before delivery.
What’s included:
Editing and sound design
Animation and motion graphics
Colour grading
Rough Cut and Fine Cut feedback rounds
Delivery
Once approved, we deliver your final video(s) in the agreed formats via a secure download. We ask that you save your copies, as delivery folders are temporary. We archive all raw footage for at least 12 months in case you want to revisit or repurpose content down the track. If you'd like a copy of the raw footage, we’re happy to provide it—just send us a suitable hard drive.
